Authorization to Operate (ATO) Enables D-Scope IVISS to Begin Transforming US Military Medical Imaging Capabilities
Integrated video and image sharing enables US military and VA healthcare facilities to improve patient care and reduce costs.
San Antonio, January 24, 2022 – The US Military Health System is undergoing sweeping transformation under the Defense Health Agency (DHA), a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that oversees the nation’s military medical services. The transformation is taking a major step forward with the deployment of D-Scope IVISS (Integrated Video and Image Sharing System).
D-Scope IVISS is a network of medical workstations and servers that allow authorized access to video and images among doctors in various departments and remote locations. This is especially important for patients transitioning from active duty to veteran status, because their records are available to all doctors in the care continuum, eliminating costly and time-consuming reimaging. The military-grade level of security, one of the requirements for the cross-agency platform, has been certified by the ATO awarded to D-Scope IVISS.
To further reduce costs by eliminating non-clinical tasks, D-Scope IVISS integrates patient data and doctors’ notes with procedure reports and patient electronic medical records (EMR), speeding completion and enhancing accuracy.
D-Scope IVISS unifies medical imaging workflow throughout US military and veteran healthcare facilities, as well as enabling them to easily connect the ever-growing array of 3rd party medical devices and AI-driven apps for live streaming, automatic video marking, 3-D modeling and other innovations to support workflow studies, remote training and mentoring.
